  • hi,

are your bomb deals, australia version/classifications?

    • +1

      Hi Mooreshady,

If a product says (import) next to it's title, they're normally PAL UK :) The vast majority of our deals are from PAL UK stock. We sticker all of our import stock however.

      Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Wade

  • Dead space 2 was awesome. How's Dead space 3? I've read a few reviews but still not sure if its still worth getting it. How does the microtransactions works in this game?

    • +1

Dead Space 3 is crap. Taking a big step away from being a good horror game like the first two and more of an action game.

    • The trilogy conveniently goes in order of best to worst.

    • I guess I'll skip this one then.

      • Definitely play the first though, if you haven't yet.

    • +1

Dead Space is an unquestionable masterpiece in solo horror/sci-fi; ignore the sequels and leave it at that. OK play 2 if you have to, but then definitely leave it at that.

  • Pretty decent deals.

  • Hi there,

Do the games come sealed? Or do you open them up and put stickers over the classification markings?

And how much is postage? $2.50 per item for everything? Registered postage? Or if they don't arrive do we have to get into an argument?

And all items ship from Australia - so they should be received within a few days? As opposed to a few weeks.

    • Its registered post and takes about 5 working days to arrive from Adelaide to Darwin. Might be faster for you if you live in Adelaide or the eastern states.

Why do people down vote valid questions? What horrific event would Australia or Oz Bargain endure if we got answers as to if the games are sealed and if shipping is per item or just one time?

      Hiya Dave!

      Answered as below for you.

Do the games come sealed? Or do you open them up and put stickers over the classification markings?
Yes and no. We legally have to attach the ratings stickers to the case, so we take off any wrapping and apply the stickers. We do however re-shrink wrap all products after this.

And how much is postage? $2.50 per item for everything? Registered postage? Or if they don't arrive do we have to get into an argument?
It's not per item. $2.50 is the base rate for an item that can fit into an envelope, and is standard mail (unregistered/uninsured).
If there is more than 1 item in the order, OR the item is larger than able to fit into an envelope, it goes to $4.95 base for eParcel (Tracked and signed for). From here, our system calculates weight/volume to charge you. Same goes for express/courier services.

We've been operating a year, and we've had maybe 5 items actually go missing. As you can understand, if we send an item standard post, it's pretty much out of our hands once it leaves here. We're happy to replace/resend an item if it doesn't show however, but we have a policy of waiting at least 21 days prior to replacing an item, as nearly always it's turned up a day or two later, and is simply a hold up in the postal network.

Check out our page for postage information - http://www.beatthebomb.com.au/shipping_info

And all items ship from Australia - so they should be received within a few days? As opposed to a few weeks.
If Australia Post do their job correctly, yes. We work super hard to dispatch as soon as an order arrives. We've dispatched up to around 5:55pm in the past and run it to the post box!
It does depend on where you are though. If you're in Adelaide, it's probably next day. In fact, I've dropped off items at some OzBargain customer's houses same day :) (They were literally a few streets away). If you're in far north Queensland, it will take longer :)

      Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Wade

      • Thanks Wade - nice comprehensive answers.

        • Yeah a few days for postage isn't a problem at all. Good to know that the items are already in Oz and ready to be shipped.

I've received shrink wrapped items before and they're kind of bogus. GAME was trying to make out the items were new when they clearly weren't.

Personally I'd much rather the items were sealed (properly) but it seems normal nowadays that the imported ones aren't.

I do disagree with you about postage though - I think it's well worth having postage registered, or requiring a signature - otherwise it's all too easy for things not to be delivered. There are dishonest postal workers, there are dishonest neighbours etc.

        • Not a problem :)

Yeah, shrink wrapping is sometimes used as a way to disguise games as being new. In saying that, remember that most game places have to open the games anyway to put the covers on display, and they file the disc's in drawers. When those guys are doing hundreds from a big order, sometimes just putting discs into sleeves can cause scratches, so might look used, but are technically new.

Believe me, we don't open games for fun! hahaha
I dream of a time when we can just send out sealed games. With a big game launch, and many units sold, we've had to spend a Saturday with 5 people unwrapping and stickering stock just to comply with OFLC.

I would have agreed with you prior to running ecommerce sites, but my statistics lead me to believe that over 99.92% of parcels are delivered without a hitch :) Maybe a delay, but not a problem.

Anyway, we pride ourselves on customer service, so any problems just email us or give us a call and we'll sort it out :)

          Cheers,
          Wade

        • Yeah but what about that 1%. The customer is not going to be happy about paying for an item and not receiving it. It's not fair on the customer. Also, when they turn around and raise all hell, as I would, then that's not going to be good for you guys either.

I've been selling used games on ebay and I can tell you the minute I don't post something registered is the minute I get people saying they didn't receive the item. I'm exaggerating when I say minute. Registered is a pain - it's an extra $3.70 or so, and that can be 25% of the cost of some items, but it seems best to avoid issues.

  • Hey Wade,

Any chance of a Skyrim Legendary Edition deal? Thanks!

    • is skyrim on ps3 worth it?

      • If you don't have a choice and only own a PS3 than it's worth it but if you own both systems its a locked 360 Purchase, better to be safe even though Bethesda say issues are fixed but who knows what would happen after 100+ hours of play.

    • Hey Zylam,

Not sure yet :) We try and keep them secret!
Make sure you're on our facebook/email to get updates :)
