Help with reclaiming funds from expired Lenovo cash back card

I didn't get to use all the funds on my Lenovo cash back / gift card -sad!!
expired 2/13

I have just looked up the TOC and it seems the money is gone.

I phoned the card company and they say they can't help.

Have I been foolish/ tardy and blown my money.

Anybody tried to reclaim lost money on expired gift card?

Yes, you've blown your money. I'm sure you'll remember to spend it quickly next time though.

Write with a BIG black marker pen "exp xx/20xx" on it, and keep it in your wallet.
When a giftcard nears expiry - just buy another one with it.

Bit late now though - 7 months too late !
