Another opening half price special. It's one of the stores in the Sussex Centre Food Court on the first floor. I didn't try it so can't comment on the quality. Please post your experience.

I think it says "Opening Sale!!"
Yeah, as you approach the store, the words "ALL Sushi OFF" stands out…
Not good Marketing…
Yes apparently:

The Japanese thought eight (や ya?) as a holy number in the ancient times.
I hope that question comes up when I appear on 'Hot Seat' with Eddie…
Most people expecting Japanese sushi wouldn't eat regular sushi anyway

It's a takeaway sushi stall, so think of it like Maccas compared to a steak house.
Mmm… Vegas steak house
I need a Vegas flight deal, stat!

"The renovated hotel & casino is planned to reopen in 2014, under a new name, and will include the addition of a rooftop pool as well as a dayclub/nightclub managed by Drai Management Group. The conversion also includes the complete remodeling of the guest rooms, casino floor and common areas, the addition of a new second floor restaurant, and construction of the 65,000 square foot rooftop pool and dayclub/nightclub."
NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn you, Gansevoort!!What's next, the $20/night Imperial Palace?
Poor jv, somebody (not me) has it in for him, negging his comments. I actually don't mind him, I even enjoy him as he makes me chuckle now and then. He's just in his usual form.
Are you fishing for -ve votes tonight… :P
Looks like anybody who remotely likes you also gets negged. Such is the price of notoriety. ;)
I like jv
So do I.
I feel the ♥ tonight… :)
I like jv too but I also like to neg him hahaha
hahaha
JV, here's another of your fans !
i don't mind jv either, why? well, no matter how many times he's negged into oblivion he still manages to pick himself up, dust off and keep trundling along as if nothing happened…..really gives new meaning to 'perseverance'…
Maybe he's a standup comedian in another life. Those guys take a lot of flak.
he still manages to pick himself up, dust off and keep trundling along as if nothing happened…
You would too, If it happened to you as often, :-)
Love JV.
Fine line between persevererence and ignorance lol
Ps I am a jb fanboi too
The previous 1 was better.
Japanese croquettes. As if we need another sushi roll shop
SighEven at $2 it's not bad I guess, wonder what the quality's like, maybe I'll try it tmrw. I usually grab the 2 for $3 at Akasaka, Town Hall which are pretty well made imo.
ok so i went into the shop this evening. they look nice with good quality fillings but are way small. about three would equal your average sushi roll. so for the first time ever i am giving this a negative vote! not a bargain. and no way i can see they will put prices back to $2.
also there was no one buying from them but plenty of people buying from other places in the food hall.
nice yeh was strange that no one had posted this yet. I checked it out today keen for some sushi - slices is a better word than rolls. not sure how they can sell those things. not a good deal at all
"slices is a better word than rolls" spot on. that was the description i was looking for.
personally i think they will either go out of biz or change their offer - ie normal rolls at normal prices. their ' gourmet slices' is misplaced given their competition in the same food hall all offer cheap asian/chinese food. but i could be wrong…
Astro, can you give some more details where Akasaka is within the townhall? also the deal you mention '2 for $3' is that at a particular time only or all day?
cheers
Ah really? Yeh I never eat in that area, but I was so shocked that they had to nerve to advertise what they were selling as 50% off…
Akasaka's is on Bathurst St (near the 7 Eleven), if you just walk up towards Hyde Park from KFC at Town Hall you should see it. Yeh you're right though, the 2 for $3 to be a clearance at the end of the day (around 5pm onwards I think? May even be earlier but not too sure).
Although, Aashi Sushi at Wynyard Station (close to the Maccas) sells $1.50 all day round, haven't been there in a while but from what I remember they're quality was pretty good too.
No worries, hope I helped.
Thanks Astro for both recommendations
cheers
Sorry to hear that they were so stingy. Looks like they're not going to survive for long in that food court.
Sign says "Opening Sale II", what happened to the first one?
