      here you go..

      http://www.dicksmith.com.au/travel-accessories/navman-mivue3…

just add quantity 2 and you will get 2 cameras ;-))

    • +5

You want a selfie when you crash?

    • Why two cameras ??
Surely one would cover the entire road ?

      • +1

One camera faces the road, the other faces the inside of the car I guess. Useful for cabbies/private cars. So when they bash you, there is evidence.

      • +1

A camera pointing forward and one backward, so you can also catch someone rear ending you.
        Like this: http://www.uniden.com.au/australia/p_iGO_cam_800_index.asp

        • Usually the rear ender is the one at fault so no need for proof with those accidents…

        • What happens if some one rear ender's you and then you hit a car in front of you !!! I have seen that happening at one of the traffic lights !!

        • The guys at the back pays for all

  • I was thinking of getting one for the back window, is it possible?

  • Had my eye on the 358. Reckon this would be fine instead?

    • +2

The 358 is 1080p, I have one and its great. I got for $147 @ JBHIFI on special, I think you can get from ebay for similar price.

This 338 is good also, but "only" 720p. I'd go the 358 personally.

  • +1

JB hifi also doing it for $99

  • does it overwrite when the memory is full ?

    • yes.

This is same hardware (Except for camera) as my 358, and they're great little units, highly recommended. But yeah, check the price of a 358 (1080p) on eBay for a better picture.

      • 358 is double the price.. is it really worth double the price?

        • +1

They're only twice the price right now due to popularity and low stock.

I got my 358 for $147 at JBHIFI on special a few weeks ago (its much higher now).

A friend at work got his for $140 with 8gb SDCard, posted, from eBay. Current deals on eBay, cheapest I can see is $177. This is because they are hard to find at the moment (low stock in Oz), give it a week or two and they'll be back around $140.

Go the 358 folks…. the 338 will have a lot of trouble picking up the important details (like number plates on moving vehicles) and will struggle at low light.

There's even some "HD" labeled models out there that will struggle with details, so research well.

People often post UTube videos of different models at different times of day, so u can see for yourself how good the images are.

Have a search there before committing your cash.

Also consider how it will be mounted.
Are you happy with a 'temporary' setup with cables leading to ciggy lighter? Because there are some good models out there that dont mount by suction cap and can be mounted next to the rear vision mirror almost invisible (but require auto electrician to install). The later is better for not attracting car thieves, if you want a model with bump detection (someone hits your car in a car park unattended).

    Also consider audio recording.
Might sound pointless at first, but any details the camera doesnt pick up in a crash, your voice might have the rest. Could also come in handy on traffic stops with cops not treating you as well as they should.

      Totally agree.

Also, models which say "HD" but don't have great picture actually aren't mislabeling. HD only means 720p (like the 338) which won't pickup numberplates, so it's not fantastic. Full HD is what to look for (1080p like the 358). It's a silly naming scheme really.

Also the 358 does bump detection which is handy :)

One thing I've noticed about the 358 (338 will be similar) is the audio isn't fantastic. It did'nt seem to catch my awesome singing in the car very well ;) Its good enough though.

  • Guys,
I'm looking for one of these devices. Please check the below page for product review…
Reviews dont sound that flashy - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/navman-mivue338.html

  • Like I said, the MiVue358 will be better priced if you wait a bit.

DSE now selling for $168 which is not bad. I got for $147, so they have a way to go yet.
