28 DAYS Mastercard - O/S ATM's - Not Free Anymore?

I just rang 28 Days to find out what ATMS have the least fees in Singapore / KL / Europe /UK

They said there was no fee free ATM's and that you would need to assess the fees when trying any ATM.

This seems to be a change from January when I used ATM's O/S and most were free. Ironically, I was charged $8 by a Westpac, but 28 days reimbursed me after I rang and queried it.

I'm guessing some are still are free / some aren't?

  • I think they are referring to the fees charged by the ATM provider (not 28 degrees itself). This varies from country to country, and I agree in most countries I have been to it has not been free. I'm not sure about Singapore, and I don't think 28 degrees (or any Aussie credit card provider) will be able to give you that sort of advice.

My understanding was that bank owned ATMs are free but the dodgy ones you find in service stations and inside convenience stores will charge.

That was my experience in South America in May anyway.

That's also my experience in Australia :)

  • I'm assuming you mean 28 Degrees Mastercard and not 28 Days Mastercard.
I took cash out last month from the ANZ ATM at Singapore Airport with no fees.

I agree stick with the bank ATM's. Avoid the private ATM's.
