I'm getting one of these bad boys delivered next week and have been keeping an eye on prices since I bought it (who doesn't?). Bing Lee are doing it for $599 which is a little more than I picked it up for but still a great deal for anyone looking for a new decent size fridge with what appears to be a good energy star rating (3.5 or 335 kWh/Year). RRP is $1049 and manufacturer page is here: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/home-appliances/refrigera…. I got it for a bit less than $599 with free Sydney metro delivery and in fact when I bought it Bing Lee were doing a free Sydney metro shipping promo.

I looked extensively for anything that could compare in the 300-400lt range and nothing came close. I would have preferred a bottom mount fridge but for the starting prices on some of those I could have just as easily bought a side-by-side.

Some things I liked about this fridge:
+ 1 slide out shelf so less bending to reach items at back of fridge
+ LED lights (no neons, unfortunately)
+ Reasonably narrow width (narrower than some smaller capacity fridges, obviously at expensive of height and depth)
+ Energy efficiency
+ Style
+ Warranty (2 years parts/labour, 10 years parts on motor)
+ Price (it's cheaper than the Samsung 340l model)

For comparison sake, starting price elsewhere is $728 and close B&M competitor HN have it for $849 (see http://www.getprice.com.au/buy-best-SR392MW.htm)

As with most retailers Bing Lee usually negotiate and I'm pretty sure you could get it for $599 delivered or even a little better if you tried. HN are supposed to price match and give 10% difference, and there's a pretty significant difference between $849 and $599 (10% difference = $25). If they stick to their word you'd get it for $575 + delivery (since it's not advertised with delivery). Alternatively some of the online retailers such as Appliance Online have a best price guarantee I'm sure you could hit up as well.

I've used new Samsung fridges and they're very neat, again, nothing comes close price wise except for completely unknown brands which aren't even any cheaper. Check out http://www.getprice.com.au/Refrigerators-GPcn_114__od_price_… for comparison of all fridges 300-400l sorted by price.

Chill homie, my fridge is an ice cold killa. Fresh to death and stocked with Ice-T and Ice Cubes. Not afraid to bust the stainless-steel.

      • I won't put my food inside a bad boy.

    • Guess you don't have 28 Degrees Shopper Protection Insurance then?

  • Thanks :)

  • Had a really good experience with our Samsung fridge we bought in Jan. It's the model up from this one I think.

  • I have had my Samsung for ….um like 4 years now and I have to tell u nothing at all has went wrong and I love it how the freezer on mine is on the bottom and its larger then most fridges ^^

$244 delivery to Perth, I think I'll pass lol

  • Good price, only problem is that its a Samsung. My last fridge was a Samsung and it was an unreliable POS. My Fathers fridge is a Samsung and he has had two callout repairs already. Better off going for a German, Japanese or perhaps other Northern Euro brand. Samsungs and LG's are cheaper for a reason.
