[FREIGHT FORWARDER] 32GB Asus/Google NEXUS 7 (2013) - USD$215 if purchased in-store at OfficeMax (USA)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

For those of you with good friends in the USA who'd be willing to go to an OfficeMax (USA) and buy the Nexus 7 for you, then ship it back - check this out, 20% off everything (including the N7) at OfficeMax if you print the voucher below and buy in-store with it (doesn't work for online purchases). The voucher's valid till 10 Aug USA time.

That works out to be about USD215 for the 32GB N7 (and USD183 for the 16GB N7).

Just got a good friend to go and buy the last 32GB N7 at their local store at 20% off, so pretty happy. Unfortunately there is CA sales tax on it (about 9%), and I'm not sure how much shipping back will be (roughly USD30-40 with USPS from their website).

Definitely works well in a USA state with no sales tax and even better if your friend is coming to you soon, avoiding shipping! You can use the OfficeMax site to check stock availability at specific stores (http://www.officemax.com/technology/computers/tablets/produc…).

This probably works only with a good friend - bit of a hassle getting them to go in-store if it's not close!

P.S. this deal is taken from OzBargain's USA cousin, slickdeals - http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/100164/officemax-stores-32gb… - so please move to forum if appropriate.

  • Was this an automatic move from main site to forum by Ozbargain? Doesn't seem right considering you have to buy this item in-store with the voucher (you can't buy online with voucher), so forwarder isn't going to work unless forwarder = friend. Would have thought this should stay on the main OZB site given I think there'll be some interest in this, but whatever works.

    • It's not available to Australia. See posting guidelines. You would need a freight forwarder (which can literally be a person buying then forwarding it to you).

      • OK no worries.

  • Also,

    $215 USD
    +9% tax ($19.35).

    $234.35
+ ~$40-50 shipping (which from my experience of parents sending iPad over)
    $274.35-$284.35 USD ($305-$317 AUD)

You can source the Nex 7 depending on the sale for about $200-$300 AUD delivered. e.g. Kogan

    • Note this is the NEW Nexus 7, not the old Nexus 7 - cheapest price for new 32GB Nexus 7 at the moment shipped to Aust is from B&H Photos for about USD309 (USD269 + USD40-ish shipping) - that's actually about AUD345.

The above links are mostly to old Nexus 7, which is obviously a lot cheaper.

Also, the Nexus 7 box is significantly smaller and lighter than the iPad box. I took a look at the USPS calculator yesterday and it was either USD23ish for airmail (10-15 days) or USD40ish for Priority Mail (6-10 business days).

  • down the bottom is says it excludes mobile devices

Discount does not apply to purchases of HP ink and toner, U.S. postage stamps, TVs, printers, computers, monitors, Epson® projectors and screens, Epson scanners, shredders, typewriters, cash registers, hard drives, video games, file cabinets, ready-to-assemble furniture, chairs, furniture accessories, gift cards, general-use prepaid cards, phone cards, no-contract phones, mobile devices and service plans, Design Center Kiosk items, desktop publishing services, custom stamps, awards and plaques, MaxAssurance® Service and Protection plans, furniture assembly, OfficeMax® Essentials kits and FedEx® shipping services

    • Oh OK, interesting. I know it works because my friend has it in her hands (for USD$235 with sales tax I think), and lots of people on slickdeals reported that it works, so…
Think the stores are interpreting "mobile devices" to exclude tablets (which can be classified as computers), and includes mobile phones only.
