The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners at all US airports & HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs in the UK) and airline check-in staffs at airports are trained to recognise the Travel Sentry Logo. They understand that luggage with locks displaying this mark are permitted to remain locked. The TSA screeners have access to special codes that allow them to open these locks in the event that the luggage must be opened for inspection. With Travel Sentry Certified Locks the TSA can screen baggage faster without having to open locks.

Can be easily opened and re-locked by airport security luggage inspectors

or anyone else who happens to have chatted with an airport security luggage inspector at the pub. Also, you forgot to mention that airport security luggage inspectors are highly paid professionals and have shown no evidence of corruption or involvement with organised crime.

    • sort of. It's a bit unfair to compare the unit price of a 2 pack that includes shipping with a 50 pack (that excludes shipping).

      • Agree. Consider that you'll also lose 12% roughly as a seller to eBay, and postage is probably $7 at best with AusPost rates the way they are, its a reasonable price.

  • the cost of 2 items including shipping ($9.99/50) is $9.60. But yes it is a bulk buy

    • "the cost of 2 items including shipping ($9.99/50) is $9.60."

But it isn't the cost. They will not ship 2 of these to you for $9.60 inc shipping.

Not quite apples for apples… your ones aren't TSA approved.

      • do I care what an American government agency approves of or not?

        • No, but its a standard for both the US AND the UK (two popular destinations for Aussies), and there's increased likelihood they'll just cut your strap, as opposed to using the key.

I had a mate who spent $30 on a TSA approved lock from a travel shop as he was going the US of A, and when he was there, TSA plain old cut his lock, with no regard to the fact that it was TSA openable.

    True Story.

Good value for TSA locks, if TSA actually cared enough to take care with these things.

It's easier to do what I do, spend $5 on a packaging of cable ties in different colors and use that to "lock" your bags. You'd definitely know when it's been tampered with, and for that $5 you pretty much have a lifetime supply.

Just dont take your cutters on hand luggage to cut the ties later :)

"honey, where is the cable tie cutter?"

        "it's in the suitcase………oh"

      • No need.

Most places would have something that can open a cable tie quite easily. (ie. sisscors or penknife or even lighter.)
