Hey Y'all just thought i would share something.
So i am running iOS 7 Beta 4 on my iPhone 5 and have been since Beta 1( it has drastically improved my battery life i must say)
anyways, i have a few lightning cables for charging from different places.
I have noticed a annoying feature in the current beta which i suspect will be present in the final release this spring.
When i plug in some of my cheaper lightning cables i get a message on the screen saying "that the cable is not certified for use " the charging and data transfer is then disabled.
I have a few cheaper cables that work (Belkin etc) but most of the $3 ones etc simply won't work.
I notice lately a lot of companies are offloading their cables super cheap.. and i suspect this is why
they need people to buy them while they still have iOS 6
Cheers
Well, eff you Apple…
All that innovation wasted on "certified" cables. Stunts like these really make me regret getting iProducts.
Reminds me of the usb to 20pin adapter, how a direct plug will say the device is not supported or uses too much power, but when you put it through an adapter, it'll work fine.
Might have to jailbreak my ipad to get it charging. I lost my original cable and I've got about 4-5 "non-certified" cables…
