They actually run through optus network and offer global roaming and remote access to Voicemail from other countries and give you more data for about half the price Optus want direct

I had $10 of credit about to expire in a few days so I used it to purchase 1GB data. Afterwards, I noticed the expiry date of the remaining credit has been extended by 3 months. Is this normal?

    • Wow that'd be sweet if it expired after 3 months of no use, use it every week/2 weeks (say a grandparent) and wouldn't expire. Let me know if you find out why.

Kogan recently got rid of their unlimited plan, now it's full of limits.
    Aldi Mobile Unlimited: $35

Amaysim with initial 35% discount for x months = $/month
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 0)) / 1 = 13.65
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 1)) / 2 = 26.325
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 2)) / 3 = 30.55
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 3)) / 4 = 32.6625
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 4)) / 5 = 33.93
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 5)) / 6 = 34.775
    ((0.35 * 39) + (39 * 6)) / 7 = 35.3785714286

I'm happy to give Amaysim a genuine tryout given I have 6 months before I'd start paying more than Aldi.

I'm jumping off the burning Kogan ship (can get the same model cheaper on any Chinese site) right now leeching all my 6gb quota, <MOD - Foul language> for treating us like crap. I hope ACCC takes them to court for their misleading unlimited claims.

6 days till my Kogan plan expires, will I get a sim in time if I order online?

    • Try boost. I prefer them over any other carriers. $40 a month gets you unlimited calls/texts and 3GB of data. It runs off the full Telstra 3GB network too. I heard they have the $40 sim pack (includes 30 days of credit) for $20 at aus post (normally $40). Woolies also sells the sim packs.

Unfortunatly for me. Use mobile for work.
Changed greeting explaing to customers where to contact me on my global roaming sim etc if urgent.
But mailbox got filled and then when people called me all they got was message stating sorry users mailbox is full and then hung up.
NOTE After been on Kogan for last 6 months biggest problem was tiny tiny voicemailbox that would only store about 6 voicemails.

Rang them requesting access to clear mailbox or put call forwarding on but was told nothing can be done outside Australia…
After frantic search for solution.. Churned number off Kogan.
Rung local optus shop and got them to put aside a prepaid sim for me and give me sim number as couldnt churn off them without it.
Vodafone couldnt help me at all. As was a customer previously with Optus and wanted to avoid Telstra all together
Ported number over and setup call forwarding to my skype in umber with my voicemail message so clients at least knew I was away and not just ignoring them.

Very annoyed with Kogan. To not have ability to either access voicemail system from outside Australia, and not been able to put on call forwarding for me.

Really want to avoid Tesltra at all costs but read up on reviews and compared features eg. access to voicemail when overseas, global roaming, great support and Amaysim seemed to be on the top.

So will lock them in after I get home and get by with my temporary band aid solution.

    • how does your math work? how do u get $13.65 for the 1st month?

      isn't it just 35% 0ff $39? so it's $25.35 u pay for the 1st month?

    • 0.35 should be 1-0.35 = 0.65…

I ended going with half price boost.

  • Pretty sure you can still buy the Red Bull 365 unlimited for $365 for the year with 5 gig per month until the end of August. It's Vodaphone based- so it's shite as far as reception goes- but it's a sweet deal if you can dovetail it with what you're currently on and nearing the end of contract.

    • Think that's only for existing customers + Kogan is $329 and runs off Telstra if you think voda is *(***

      • Thanks for that I will definitely check it out when this one expires.

  • If you didn't know any better you might think 2100mhz was superior bandwidth, only it's really the cheapie stuff. So yeh, another vote for Aldi mobile 35.00 pm

    • That's just stupid, do not listen to this man.
