Hey buying a new point and shoot camera ((fujifilm x-m1) an looking for a high capacity SDHC to go with it.
I have no idea where to look for a great price on high capacity ones.
not sure If i need a high performance card - don't need one with wifi either
Any Ideas ?
Ah sorry yes you're right so SDXC should be fine.
I wont need compatibilty with pc/mac as this thing wont ever leave the camera. I'll just use the wifi features of the fujfilm x-m1

is what I was looking at. I doubt i'll use burst mode much but I will shoot RAW for single shots (hence the desire for a single high capacity card)
If you plan to use the inbuild WiFi then you can get a slower card as it is never going to take advantage of the fast read/write speed….and keep in mind the camera is never going to reach the peak speeds of those cards either
The camera is 5.6 FPS and 16.3 Megapixel. If you hold the button down you will hit about 90 Megabytes per second. Sure andyfiyz says he won't use burts mode much but in raw it doesn't take much at all to flood a card (Class 10 will flood at around 1 shot every 1.6 seconds).

What high capacity card do you recommend ?
Doesn't really matter just look at the class. Note that the camera will buffer a few images so it won't stop you straight away, but if you keep taking photos the card speed will stop you.
Just comes down to cost benefit, but class 10 is pretty affordable anyway.
I'm tempted to go 64gig because of the massive saving but this will probably annoy me more often to empty it

SDHC only go up to 32GB, by definition (FAT32 limit).
Bigger cards are called SDXC and are formatted xfat. Be sure your PC/Mac will handle it.
You will probably want a reasonably fast speed to push burst mode RAW images to it.
