1st Choice - Talisker 10yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky $59.90 (Save $20.10)

150

Saw this in 1st Choice today thought it was a great price for an awesome peaty skye scotch. I got mine from the Hindmarsh store in SA (had plenty on the shelf) but I think it's national due to the same price on their website.

The tag had a date on it that said 7/08/13 which I assume is the expiry date for this deal.

It appears that dan murphy's has already beaten the price by 5c: http://danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_84910/talisker-10-year-o…

Cant vouch for the price - but can certainly vouch for the quality of scotch! Best value single malt scotch in my books.

Normally sits at 69 at Dan's, so great price! well done!

Thanks for confirming this - I had no idea what it usually is at dans - I suspected less than $80 but not as cheap as $60. It seems to be $75-$85 in most places.

This is the first time I have had it but I have been hearing people talk about it for ages - just had some before and it definitely lives up to expectations.

  • wow I just nabbed a bottle of this duty free (a litre for $55), It isn't as potent/peaty as some of the Islay Malts, but @ $60/bottle, it's an absolute bargain! So much better then the Bowmore range.

    • Yeah one of my friends gave me some of his Ardberg and I was very impressed with how peaty it was (I loved it). Was tempted to buy another bottle of Ardberg but decided to try something new. The Talisker isn't hugely peaty but it's very smooth and pleasant (I have only just recently got into single malts so I can't really describe it very well but it's damn tasty - one of the best whiskys I've had).

  • Oops, ordered whiskey while drinking whiskey

  • This is my favourite scotch at this price range and totally recommend it. However, I've bought it twice from 1st Choice in the last few month at this $60 price, I thought it was always this price at either them or Dan's

    • Yeah I'm not too sure as I haven't looked at it that closely before. I saw the $20 off and thought it would at least be a better price than normal and it appears from my research that it is more often than not $80 at first choice and at least $64.95 normally at dan murphy's (who appear to have beaten 1st choice by 5c during the promotional period. I guess we will see after the 7th of August what happens to the dans price but my bet is it will go up.

  • www.boozle.com.au has it 5c cheaper at Dan's. Just saying. Either place is great price though.

  • Not on the 1stchoice website any more, but Dans still has some at the reduced price.
