Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi 16GB $429 @ Office Works. Good Price?

My friend has a Galaxy Note II phone and wants the matching tablet. $429 seems to be the best price according to StaticIce.

Has it ever been cheaper?
Is it likely to go cheaper soon?
Is there a new model around the corner?
Is there an alternative I should be looking at (keeping in mind she suggested the note 10.1 mainly because she has a note II phone and she wants them to "talk to each other" and she likes the stylus.

What does she need to install to make them "talk to each other". Google drive? I'm not very up to date with android stuff. I'm presuming she wants her files available on both devices and her stuff backed up to the cloud.
Can she back up more than just her files? Like she is worried about losing her phone and not having it backed up. What does she need to use?

    New model should be out in the next couple months, most likely going to a 2560x1600 res display, same as the Nexus 10, and a Snapdragon 800 CPU. It will definitely get cheaper when the new model is released. If you really need one now, then I say go for it, however be aware that it will be superseded very soon.
