Electrical Extension Cables and Power boards

I was wondering the best place to buy extension cables and power boards, was thinking of buying from Kmart or Bunnings, but being an Ozbargainer wanted to find out if their is a better option for buying them.

  • I needed an 8 outlet surge protected powerboard. I ended up going to MSY and bought a Huntkey 8 outlet surge protected board for $29. I did want a Belkin, but didn't want to pay $80+.

  • I know I made a suggestion for a power board, but please post if you where to get a good extension lead (5m or 10m)

  • I've bought extension boards and cables off eBay before, getting some good brands like Jackson's for cheaper than retail. if you're not fussed about the brand then I've also bought from dollar stores, mainly ronnies, and got 5m and 10m cables for less than $10 each

  • There's not much to extension leads. If you want a really good one, then visit an Electrical Wholesaler like TLE, DW, MM etc. They sell to the public and have reliable brands like CABAC etc.

    • Presuming that they are cheaper than retail and can purchase small quantities, rather than in bulk

      • You can purchase 1 or 100 :)

        • Are they cheaper than Kmart, Big W, Jaycar, etc?
