AU Post does charge quite a lot compare to other countries. From my recent eBay purchase. Different countries, same item and the postage cost almost the same. Taiwan-Aus EMS post USD21 (3-7days). NSW-QLD AUD20 (3-7days).
If it was $9.95 per item I would agree it's useless, but for people buying a few items then having a flat rate is not bad.
I suppose it would be good if you were buying a half-tonne of $1 items…
I look at the price - nothing special here. Pretty much most of them same price with in store. This is just pure advertising. Unless you apply free shipping, or coupon - otherwise NO DEAL.
I'd say the prices are on average 20% higher than the recent bigw/target/Kmart prices based on my knowledge of several items. Add postage and its even worse.
