Sick of Amex; other options?

Have noticed that the points I've earned through AMEX have slowly but certainly reduced - from four digit reward points to 3 digits - even though I paid to upgrade to a platinum card with "better" rewards.

I'm told that AMEX no longer has a partnership with QFF and how they're becoming stingy with points is pathetic. (3 or 2 points for few transactions, and 1 or 0.5 for the rest). Honestly, I earn better rewards with a Virgin Visa card!

Now I come to you with this question: Are there any great new card offers on the market? Lets discuss.

Anyone had luck getting them to drop the annual fee when calling to cancel ?

(and yea have seen the bmw and acs freeby deals here already ;)so thanks in advance.

then cancel your AMEX card? Using their card only shows you don't care that much.
