NO In-App purchases for this one

How does this compare to TinyScan

    • +1

      Nothing touches TinyScan.

      • is tiny scan better than this?

      • TinyScan sucks

I use it on my iPad and it keeps letter boxing my scans. I always end up with an A4 sized blank page with a smaller scan in the middle, usually sideways.

I got it for free and I feel ripped off.

  • Gave it a go, cheers.

  • …"Amazing crystal clear scan quality - Enjoy a flatbed equal scan quality on your iOS device."

This is the biggest load of BS I have ever head from an app. That's like saying "Blazing fast and smooth ride - Enjoy a Lamborghini equal quality drive on your bicycle."

Taking a photo of something with your iPhone couldn't even match your below average scanner let alone an average one. Good thing that it's free, that statement is an outright lie.

I beg to differ, the quality of a below average scanner will be below the quality of a decent phone camera if you match 1 condition that the flatbed scanner has over photos. LIGHT.

Get a decent amount of light and you'll get more resolution and finer detail.

Once you go to higher levels of scanners like the v770, you can get better quality but at the cost of time. But who needs that kinda quality for documents unless doing real archiving?

I've used my phone for countless "scan" official documents and it has never failed me. As long as you know how to get the angle and light right, easy peasy 15 seconds and done.

      • +1

Light (without the phone in the way), and keeping the page flat are the keys to a good phone scan.

  • This isn't bad for a scanning software since it has OCR and adds meta data. Great for expense claims if your company uses SharePoint since it automatically adds details. just email the document to yourself and upload the document with metadata to your expense claim intranet.

  • Well for me, this app is pointless for iphone version, since u cannot even see the changes you make to ur document due to settings covering all over the screen.

Anyway, free is free. I have used many scanner app but only found one of them helpful from personal experience for my purpose, ScannerPro by readdle.

  • Turboscan on iPhone is awesome. Highly recommend as an alternative.

  • I tried
    not very good
    similar as a camera
    OCR sucks

  • Tinyscan works well enough for me and is sometimes free.
