USA Accommodation: 31 Aug - 15 Sept

Hey all, hoping someone can help who's been in a similar situation.

Wanting to stay with my partner in Vegas from the 31st Aug - 4th Sept (4 nights) and NYC mid town Manhattan from the 4th Sept - 8th (5 nights).

Would love to stay at the MGM grand or signature or somewhere similar on the strip for Vegas, and somewhere decent in NYC that's near times square.

Anyone got any ideas? I've checked all the usual sites but accommodation looks so damn expensive, hoping someone can find me a bargain :)

Any help is greatly appreciated :D

    AFAIK, nyc is expensive around that time because of the US Tennis Open.

    Vegas is ALWAYS expensive staying on Friday and Saturday nights. And depending on what else is happening this can extend to sunday nights.

    If you want cheap Vegas stays then Mon Tues Wed Thur are the best times.

    You could check on the various sites like

    But again limiting yourself to one specific hotel could impact your prices, as they might be hosting a convention.

    Plus look at maybe staying off strip on the saturday/sunday night then moving to the grand on Monday and Tuesday.

    Also look at the prices of two separate bookings one Sat the other Sun/Mon/Tues as the discounted rates will apply if one of the nights isnt a peak night. Just play around with options.

    We stayed at the MGM Signature and can recommend them - we booked directly with the hotel but there are sites that book direct with owners or their agents that can be a little cheaper - but with a bit less service and a bit more risk.

    With NYC having stayed mid town and then last visit in Long Island City we'd definitely stay in LIC next time - we stayed at the Verve Hotel - cheaper than Manhattan and bigger rooms - few minute walk to 2 subway lines and 10 mins ride to Manhattan - well worth it

    MGM Signature via airbnb.com (direct with owner) Reception desk is at the airport.
    You get to use MGM Grand facilites without the resort fees and get 30% show discounts
