Cheap Mobile Phone Plans for two

At present we are using virginmobile plans
User1 : 19$ monthly plan - took Samsung Wave mobile couple of yrs b4 (now out of contract)
User2 : Prepaid Plan (Simple) - Credit 19$ - 90days validity
So User1 <-> User2 calling/texting is FREE.

User2 hardly use mobile for making calls other than user2.
We are thinking to grab another mobile for 19$ on 2yr contract but virginmobile does not have any phone for 19$ for User1 :(

both users thinking to switch to other providers…any suggestion?

  • Any prefrence for postpaid (with handset option) or repaid?

liveconnected.com.au (3G), vaya.net.au (4G) are postpaid (you can go over and you buy your own handset) - Optus netowrk

    prepaid 3G (telstra coverage 92%) www.aldimobile.com.au & koganmobile.com.au (with usage limits)

telstra prepaid owns boostmobile.com.au 98% coverage and no usage limits and full speed 42mb's

telstra prepaid $50 encore cap gives $950 CR and 800mb, you then use your real credit to buy bonus data $49/3gb for 3.8gb total (all from the recharge credit) or use the CR to buy apps from the google store (dont think you can use to buy from apple store) as a bonus you get 4G coverage with T$ prepaid if your handset uses it

You can buy awesome cheap prepaid handsets for your network and then use the same network SIM in it or buy a good handset outright from allphones or kogan

  • Have you check out Vaya?

  • +1

Would you consider buying an phone outright?
And what network do you require?

Think Mobile has a $12/mth plan & they do a few free handsets on a 24mth contract.
Free calls between other customers. it's on Vodafone.
    http://www.thinkmobile.com.au/think-mobile-plans/simple-12-s…

Hello Mobile have a pre-paid plan where it's 10c/call between customers.
    http://www.hellomobile.com.au/plans-and-rates/pages/supa-pla…

Vaya on their PowerPlan 22 ($17.60/mth) has free calls between customers.
& LiveConnected M Plan ($15/mth) has free calls between customers.

  • Buy a phone outright for user 1 and purchase pre-paid plans for both users
Option 1: $10 for 3 months prepaid from GoTalk. Check their rate from their website. Free data included.
Option 2: Amaysim long expiry prepaid $10 for 3 months. Check their rates also from their website.

  • I have a similar situation to yours but i am unable to get a virgin sim card anywhere because apparently they are closing down. Any good alternatives ?

  • Outright checkout allphones prices and the website kogan (where i got my SG2)

Otherwise go prepaid handset that matches the network you want/have the sim on. yes they are locked but are prices accordingly. I got a telsta Nokia 520 prepaid on a weekend website sale for $150 delivered in 3 days.
