Cheap LED projector

I'm looking for a movie projector that is affordable, and not crap :) i would prefer an LED one simply because it consumes less power, and lasts longer. It should be 720p+ and 16:9 aspect ratio

Any suggestions?

    Is there a LED projector that isn't crap?
    I ask in all seriousness. I'm not convinced that the brightness of LED is there yet!

      LEDs in general could do it, but you would have to pay a fortune.

      Basically don't bother. With projectors you either need to pay for a really good one or accept that the image will be rubbish. Do you want a projector because you can't use a TV in this space?

    The most affordable regular projector is the BenQ 1070. 1080p unit that retails for $1000 at Officeworks.
    A friend of mine bought its predecessor, the 1060 and loves it.
    I find there is still a rainbow effect, but I haven't seen enough to decide if it's a problem for me.

    At the moment, I have a ~5 year old XGA resolution LCD Epson now on it's second bulb. Does the job nicely.
