Yeh, I missed out on that deal and was not wanting to buy the reduced size collectors edition they released later on. This collection is a must for the x-file fans. I'm just about to start series 9 (bought this collection before Xmas). I was surprised how many episodes I missed watching when it was on tv.
This price is good enough if you are a big x-file fan like me and my wife. Lots of extras included. It doesn't include the new(ish) x-file movie but that would be better seen in blueray anyway. These dvd's are fine quality. When the show moved to L.A it went 16:9 and the video quality was greatly improved.
I thought I'd refrain from giving away spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched the show then I realised that I couldn't give away any spoilers because just like all conspiracy theorists, they never find the truth.
Region 2 and Region 4 is not a thing DVDs come in.
They're either one region or all regions.
Are you confused because we're in the same Blu Ray Region as the UK?
I own a lot of Doctor Who dvds purchased from Amazon UK and most of them say region 2 & 4 on the back of them. So it can happen.
DVDs came in a variety of regions
Often R2/4 were UK/Australian releases, although some were purely R2, and some are purely R4
R1 was usually USA
R3 was common in Asia
Hence the big fuss over region-free players back in the day.
many uk dvds although region 2 on the boxes will play in australian region 4 players but will not play in say american region 1 players. Most Warner Brothers releases fromn the UK fall into this category just like many USA Warner brothers releases will play in australian players. This X files box set is also compable with Australian players thus it is region 2 plus region 4 compatable

my mistake these discs are region 4 compatable. the Uk release of the X files does play in Australian players. For those who do not have a multi region dvd player you might be able to unlock your dvd player to make it multi region here
This is not the case. I bought the exact same set and they are region 4 as well.
