    If you can actually buy one from Amazon jp do let us know how because they've been instantly cancelling orders if you're outside of Japan. Already tried VPNs and the like to no avail - I think they're just blocking any non-Jap credit cards but its just a guess.

    For me, I'd rather buy from local retailer in case the one I get has uneven lighting..

      Yeah that's what I did but it doesn't seem to work anymore. They've really cracked down on it as killperry mentions below.
      There's some talk about buying gift cards to get around having to use a CC but I don't want to do that only for it to not work and end up with almost $90 of useless Amazon JP credit…
      That and apparently even Tenso can't order them so perhaps they've blacklisted the Tenso addresses?

      Also I'm pretty sure Amazon are amazing with warranties and you can take it up with Amazon US if something goes wrong but don't take my word for it..

    yeah +1 for amazon japan + tenso deal.

    bit tricky to order but worth the saving. think i got mine within a week.

    Hey freakitude, I tried the Amazon.jp and Tenso combo this week, but they cancelled my order. Not sure if they're flagging the Tenso address or the Aus CC.

    Extremely keen to hear about any other offers and if anyone knows where to go the official Amazon covers from, other than Amazon!

    The gift card trick doesn't seem to work. Sounds like they're blocking Tenso.

    Other shippers I've seen mentioned cost a bit more. whiterabbitexpress.com is 15% (min US$15). dv8cag.com has a 1000JPY service fee.

    I've asked Tenso if they can comment on this. Waiting for a reply.

      Yeah I got a quote from whiterabbit which was exactly what you'd expect. US$81.20 + US$15.00 (~AUD$105) service fee and postage will be calculated once the item arrives. Probably another $15-$25 AUD depending on how heavy they measure it to be…

      $121 + $29 shipping to Australia = $150 total.
      It's cheaper to buy from Amazon Japan using the services I mentioned above (comes to about $120 total)
