I am having problems with my xbox 360, is anyone else having the same problem? My friends avatars won't pop up, I can't receive messages/ get into parties.

they are beta testing a new update so mite have something to do with preparing for that.

Check xbox live status.
Edit: I just checked there is a couple of issues with the service atm. So its not just yours man.
