  Haier (home applicane) is a Chinese brand, but it is decent.

  I had an older model 5.5kg Haier and it was great. I found it washed better than my mum's Fisher and Paykel (which loves to leave undissolved detergent marks on all my clothes). I wish I still had it, but my old housemate does now. I still have a Haier dishwasher that's been going strong for 5 years.

    Haier owns 10% Fisher & Paykel. It is the largest white goods manufacturer in China and produce a lot of OEM labels for western brands who don't own factories any more.
