Thomas Trackmaster - Risky Rails Bridge Drop (Target) $65 (Supposedly Half Price)

60

After being pretty underwhelmed dealing with target toy sale in the past I was not really looking for anything but I noticed this yesterday and thought it was a good deal so grabbed one.

For $65 it is pretty good, though I think the normal retail is around $100 not $130.

FYI Target Perth CDB had about 3 or 4 left.

Some of the other trackmaster stuff is also on special, as I picked up a Deluxe Expansion pack for $20, down from $30.

This is a good price, but be warned that it's a fiddly set to put together. Because of the variable height there's really only one way to put it together (unless you want a really, really basic track) and you have to get it perfect so that the drop lines up with the track below - easier said than done.

It takes up a lot of space - so you can't really leave it out.

On the plus side it's well made and pretty sturdy, and my kid loves it - on the negative he learns a few new words every time I assemble it.

I am actually going to get the $30 set of track pieces they have in the new Big W catalogue so we can build simpler tracks because he loves the trackmaster trains.

  • P.S. I paid $79 in October/November so $130 would be a stretch. Also trains to go on this are expensive - $20-$30 depending on how many carriages…and my kid's broken a couple also.

  • My 4 year old loves this set and even though it takes up a lot of room he gets lots of use with it. There is also a $34 (half price) glow in the dark track set that looks good too in Target.
