  • Copied from the site you linked - GET A HEAD START, DON'T MISS OUT!

Students must register and enrol before this promotion ends. Promotion ends at 17:00 AEST on Thursday 27th June 2013 .

It sayd online and classroom, I wonder if you can do it all online.

  • Sorry guys, am blind.. where do we check if we are eligible? "Candidates must be eligible for government funding for offer to apply"

    • you must have Australian residency, and that you have not completed anything higher than Cert IV.

      • So having a degree counts me out? :(

      • I do have a permanent residency but i finished my studies overseas. Does that still qualify as a higher education?

  • You need to be under 20, that would count a few ppl out. Usually you are already a student at the age!

Am I eligible for a government-subsidised training place?

In 2013 you are eligible for a government-subsidised training place if you are:
    • an Australian citizen
    • an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
    • a New Zealand citizen

and are any of the following:
    • under 20 years of age
    • seeking to enrol in an Approved Foundation Skills List course (Voc Prep)
    • seeking to enrol in VCE or VCAL
    • seeking to enrol in an apprenticeship
    • 20 years and older and ‘upskilling’ by seeking to enrol in a course at a higher level than your existing qualification

    • +3

From your own quote you don't need to be under 20:

      • 20 years and older and ‘upskilling’ by seeking to enrol in a course at a higher level than your existing qualification
      • Upskilling should apply to anyone who doesn't have a business degree or MBA right?

  • How much of my time will this require? I'm currently doing Year 11 (VCE) and I'm interested, but not if it requires a lot of time to do. Also, the website says "Online", so that means I don't have to go to the classrooms and can do it all on my computer?

  • From my understanding, you can apply if you are over 20 if you have not completed anything higher then a Cert IV. So for instance, if you are still in uni but have not completed, you will be eligible as you don,t hold the qualification yet. If you are under 20yrs you automatically qualify.

  • Hah 6-8 weeks. That should be a full time 1 year course. These guys get PAID for a full year course and only run a short course. It's so profitable that they bribe you with a free tablet. "Saw" training, hah yeah 'cut' the guts out of the government funding and run off with the profits. Too much of this nonsense goes on these days. Still I have seen Cert IV courses run in a weekend and they even pay you cash to come along…. No wonder TAFEs delivering actual full courses are going broke.
