Cheap travel from Sydney to Dubai and back

Hey guys, I'm planning my trip from Sydney to Dubai on November 25th and back around end of Jan.

Any recommendations for cheap fares? I can withstand a stopover, if it only means I stay there for 2 to 4 hours max. And preferably not via Air China..perhaps Singapore Airlines or Qantas? Matrix.ITA gave me a Qantas fare to Dubai and back for 1600 dollars, but I lost it now; perhaps there are similar fares to this?

    Why not Air China? Had some friends fly via Dubai with Air China and they said it was a no problem flight - new planes, clean, good food.

      They don't fly to Dubai…they swapped to Abu Dhabi ever since their partnership with Etihad started.

    Cheap fares come up on Emirates occasionally. I seem to recall booking through their Singapore page helped with price, but that was a long time ago and info may be out of date.

    Check flights out of Singo or KL first, then marry up a cheapo from Syd.
