So the other day I was at eb games, and I traded in a couple of games, then I was told I would receive store credit. With my store credit I brought a certain product, which required a little extra cash. About I week later I went and returned this product, and when the store clerk gave me the money back, instead of getting store credit, he gave it back in cash. I don't know if this works at every store, but it happened at this one.
Just ask them for cash, lol

I know some stores do cash, but a fair amount only do store credit.
I think you would find that this would be at the store's discretion. I am sure anyways they would advise cash or store credit when trading used games, and are therefore following a good business/consumer practice. We regularly buy their games and are pleased with our purchases. They also have done price match for us. Hopefully no-one upsets the apple cart so they continue to provide such a good service.
I do not find my post a discretion too the EB Games, as I was just posting my part on OzBargains. If you look on the websites Trade and Save page, you wil see the following quotes, "A store associate will quickly tell you how much store credit your games are worth", and "Use your credit towards anything else in store!".

You can always get cash, but they give you an extra 25% I believe if you choose store credit.
