Hi team,
These are two well-reviewed tablets that Barnes & Noble have recently done a massive price-cut on, possibly in reaction to either getting out of the hardware market OR getting ready for a refresh.
Both tablets have screens that compare well to their relevant iCompetitor - the Nook HD (smaller model) has a higher res screen than the iPad Mini. Both models will also take a microSD card up to 32gb.
Additionally, B&N have recently integrated the Google Play store into this device, which has led several reviewers to raise their original scores by up to 20% (ie one extra star out of 5).

HERE'S THE CATCH:
B&N will not ship this tablet directly to Australia. However, I've done a little research and using a 3rd party shipper such as Price USA will take the total price of the 9" Nook HD+ up to about $230AUD. This strikes me as an excellent price for a 9" device that is (probably) on par with the iPad 3 and has the added bonus of SD expansion.
The HD+ looks a great value proposition… according to this it's not too shaby in the games department either:

Anyone got anything discount it as a gaming platform?
