I was wondering whether one includes the N preceding the number on ones Australian passport when doing web check-ins with Air Asia and the likes

    I think it indicates the passport series so I would include it.

    Yes you have to use 'all' the Passport ID if not when you check in you may have problems. It will be checked upon check on.

      Agreed, passport numbers must always include all characters, including the alphabetic ones.
