    My little cousin has a Galaxy Tab 2, it's nothing to write home about, just a regular plastic Android tablet, I would compare specs and buy the higher of the two

    The only advantage of the Aldi one is it offers 3G in addition to wifi if that's important to you.
    In every other aspect the Aldi one is vastly inferior. While it's specs are good on paper, a lot of stuff doesn't work or doesn't work as expected. Read the thread mentioned above on it at whirlpool to get a feel for all these issues. For what it does the aldi tab is way overpriced (my opinion)

    I'd grab this galaxy tab over it any day.

  FYI, Officeworks at Oxley QLD still had 4 of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 64GB + 3G for $269 when I was there late last week. Worth calling up and asking.

  Im thinking of getting this device purely for my travels this month - mainly watching videos on the plane and some browsing in hotels. What are peoples thoughts on this Tab 2, purely for this? (then possible sell it when I return)

    I have one, and I have been using it for the past 4 months. I brought it for $350 from JB HIFI, in which included the official Samsung case and screen protector. As "marchi" has stated its nothing to fancy, it does lag when browsing the internet, such as zooming in and out, but gaming such as Candy Crush does not lag. Watching videos on youtube 1080p HD quality does not lag, and video playback 1080p does not lag at all.
