The War Z - 75% off - from $3.74

24

Based on the ARMA II mod DayZ and have always wanted to give this a spin, for this price seems worth it

The War Z is a Survival Horror MMO that immerses players in a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic world in which a viral outbreak has decimated the human population leaving in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportion.

For people unaware of it, War Z was surrounded with LOTS of controversies during its "foundation release", please do some research before buying it.

This is a horrible game, the developers are very shady people.

Even at just a couple bucks, buyer beware. Consider throwing that pocket change at one of the many indie game developers who deserve our support, instead of… well, read for yourself: http://steamcommunity.com/app/226700/discussions/

      my personal fav :D

This game is fundamentally broken. The fact that you can buy items in the game and have it added to your player character in real time is fundamentally at odds against the principles of a survival game.

Not to mention you will lose your entire backpack when you die — either from a zombie or from the hands of player who hacks and uses aimbots / money cheats..

DO NOT BUY THIS! It is broken and a horrible rip-off of a number of better systems. Don't encourage this kind of crap!

I can't believe Steam still carries this criminal garbage. May have killed our chances of getting a real, polished DayZ commercial release of some kind.

    • Have you seen the latest build of DayZ standalone from E3? It still looks pretty janky, I was a little disappointed - thought there would have been more progress and polish by now

      • You can't polish a game if you are remaking the whole thing.

There is very little besides the actual idea that they can transfer over from the mod.

  • This is down with the worst game ever.

  • As others have already said. Avoid this game at all costs. It is an imposter and a terrible game.

Do not give them any of your money.

    Sorry brent3000, its not personal.

  • This game is worse than Simcity 2013.

  • damn
loved ARMA II and add zombies, the game sounded good!

  • So I take it from the negs that they still haven't hashed out all the bugs?

    • The game is a turd, they have been polishing their turd quite well, but its still a turd and that won't be changing.

  • Lots of problems with WarZ, mostly they have a terrible history of overpromising and underdelivery. Lots of problems with what they delivered to customers at first release and it doesn't look like they've made much improvement.

This is all just piled up on the fact that their whole product is clearly intended to confuse people who are actually looking for DayZ.

    Avoid this rip-off.

  • im personally waiting for dayz standalone to be released

  • I know there has been a lot of negativity around this game and the developers have not handled it well at all, however what if we look at the game in its current state minus history and ask ourselves is it worth $4? I believe this could still be a bargain and know some friends who have enjoyed a few hours or so playing it, might pick it up and counter act that evilness by purchasing a humble bundle as well ;)

You do realize that by buying the game, you are actually encouraging shady business practices of dishonest developers?

      • You are correct, am actually regretting the $4 I spent on it. I remember the beta being much better. How can a game get worse in the space of 6 months further development? The graphics are much uglier and the bugs are unbelievable.

I buy heaps of indie games - by the way if you want a game made with pure passion by a developer that loves its community try Natural Selection 2 - it feels more like a AAA title than an indie now they have done so much to it since release.
