Battery charging app for Androids

I have belatedly discovered that lithium-ion batteries last a lot longer with shallow discharges and recharges. I've been discharging to zero then recharging to 100%- big no no, oh no!

I am aiming to discharge my smartphone and tablet to 50% then charge to 75%, without having to hover over them like a roosting hen. Is there an app that can tell you when the battery discharges to a set level and charges to a set level?

There are tons of battery related apps, but my advice is don't lose sleep over it. The charger in the phone itself is designed to keep the battery in good condition when left on charge. So just plug it in whenever it is convenient and leave it.

    From the article:

And, if you do charge it to 100 per cent, dont leave it plugged in. This is something most of us do, but its another thing that will degrade your batterys health.

I dispute this. Most current phones will manage this correctly. It isn't rocket science for the phone to just stop charging the battery automatically.

    • 90% of people would leave their phone on charge overnight anyway?

      • I'm in the top 10%.

        • Most devices now have trickle charge.
Charge to 100% and stop until it drops to 97% or 95% depending on your device.

Plus, a damaged battery is replaceable unless you own an iphone then sucks to be you. You signed up for it.
