Reid Cycles are having a clearance as per http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/106077just I just got an email with new items added, this seat looks like a "loss leader" but still a bargain, Shipping looks like its $8.00 or $5.00 if you use the second dropdown box, not sure of stock levels but they do mention limited qty.

Let's just say the men's version might have a little extra wiggle room ;)
Some men’s seats have a little gap towards the front of the seat.
This is to reduce excessive pressure on your prostate, and thus possible future prostate problems can be reduced. Some women’s seats seem to be wider, I’m unsure why but that’s how I see them being different.
You may or may not have noticed that boys and girls are a little bit different in the "seat" area.
If there's any gender-specific products that really do make sense, I reckon products that apply pressure to the groin area are a pretty good candidate.
It's actually not so much the squishy bits, it's the shape of the pelvis. Chicks have wider hips, wider "sit bones". It's a baby-making thing, you know?
Regardless, I wouldn't reckon on this being a loss leader, as much as an exercise in "get rid of horrible product that nobody wants". Different saddles fit different bums, but those cheap nasty plastic ones tend not to fit any of them.
fair enough, I've just never seen a 'ladies sofa' or 'men's chair' etc., to me a butt has always been a butt.
But (pun intended), always good to be wrong & learn something in the process.
Women have wider hips and wider 'sit bones' so these seats often tend to be more comfortable and better for the ladies (:
Wiggle….wiggle…wiggle…
wider 'sit bones'
@wiggleh, r u saying we have fat asses?! ;b
keep eatin' that ice cream
If you look like your avatar then no.
Dem child bearing hips.
has any1 actually gone in store and bought one?
Saw this over the weekend didn't know if there was stock to verify, was going to visit but ended up long weekend with the missus… no visit happening then ey..
No pick up at perth? :(
confirmed plenty of WHITE colour in stock at Melbourne City store.. picked one up for the neighbour :P a lovely lass…. reid cycle staff are quite friendly and provide good customer service too eventhough it was a $1 dollar purchase..
how exactly does a seat cater to the needs of one gender or another ?
some of this gender specific stuff is ridiculous.
