I'm looking for a general-purpose notebook (spreadsheets, documents, browsing, music, email, videos)
- Screen size around 15 inch, preferably with vertical resolution better than 768 pixels (better for spreadsheets)
- Any fairly recent processor
- At least 4GB RAM
- A couple of hundred GB hard disk
- Good battery life would be nice
- Doesn't need DVD
Most of these specs seem pretty easy to meet for $350-$450, Eg the recent Asus or Toshiba deals.
But the screen resolution is a sticking point. Do I have to give up on that and settle for 768?
