I've got a spare phone with Aldi. I noticed that I had better signal bars than Optus or Vodafone, which I guess is due to their using Telstra's network. But circumstances vary so test it out yourself. It'll only cost you a $5 prepaid SIM which has $5 value good for a year. Starter packs are scarce but I see that they are at the checkouts again.
Can be a hassle activating the sim. After going through everything they want me to send photocopies of id although the number I was porting was already with Telstra. Never had a company do that before. Most companiesyou can use fake details asking as you know sequence but I was using my real id
Been with Aldi for 6 weeks now and no hassles. If you're a light user the 12 month plan is a bargain and of course, no hassles with the signal.
No probs. works well with excellent coverage, even in the country. Absolute bargain.
I have a number "placed" with Aldi still- have used them regularly before i ported another number away
-its cheap $5.00 for a number to kept live for 12 months.
Can't really comment about recent usage but have given some links below too.
(Also it depends on your location just buy two $5.00 sims one to port your vodafone number to and the other to test the service first to see if it works for you. :)
