Oral-B Triumph IQ5000 Dual Handle $169 at Myer ($119 after Cashback)

390

For those like me who missed the Target sale on the single handle IQ5000 last week (and all the sales on electric toothbrushes this past month), Myer currently has the dual handle IQ5000 for $169 ($119 after manufacturer's cashback). Decent enough price considering Shaver Shop has the single handle version for the same price at the moment.

Cashback applies for purchases up to 2013-06-12

  • Can u charge both handles at the same time?

    • +2

      picture says no

    • You probably don't want to charge them all the time anyway. The non-user-replaceable battery runs out a lot quicker if you decide to charge them every day.

      • +1

Not so, the battery is NiMH, so it doesn't really matter how frequently you charge it; just dont let it run all the way down. Overcharging it will kill them, but the handle stops charging automatically so that's not a worry.

  • Cashback offer ends 12/06/13 - is that sent in or recepit of purchase by that date?

RECEIVE UP TO $50 CASH BACK* FROM 1st MARCH - 12th JUNE 2013 (PURCHASE PERIOD).
      from http://www.oralb.com.au/offers/

    • Nope, that's just the purchase period. They must receive the form by 12 July.

Castle Towers had 3 IQ5000's left on Friday for $119 with the $50 cash back

  • Just got one from logan, still plenty left there.
    Great deal thanks.

  • Just a serious question….probably be getting negged for it :/

Who buys a toothbrush for $100+ ? What makes a toothbrush worth that much? even if it is on special.
Serious question. What is the use/benefit that one can value for $100?

dont knock it before you try it. i bought one about 2 years ago, and since have bought half a dozen more for everyone in my family… it is an investment, a smart one at that coz it is something you use everyday (hopefully) and deserves to be the best.

it is not your average plastic handle tooth brush. the way it cleans is unmatched by the usual tooth brushes. they are not even in the same league!

sure, it is a bit overpriced, but thats what OZB is for!

bottom line - if you havent tried it, try it! you'll thank me later.

My mother got me an IQ5000. Hardly any tangible advantage over $17.47 PC500 (normally around $99.95; $17.47 after recent/last year's 50% off sale, $30 cashback, and use of discounted WISH gift card).
However, over crappy Vitality range (owned two before), it cleans HEAPS BETTER and is HEAPS MORE DURABLE (thanks to a better battery)!

    • Electric toothbrushes are so much more efficient at removing plaque than a manual brush. Once you try a good one you won't go back to a manual brush. If it saves you from getting a filling (more than $100) then its well worth it.

Just try it and then you will see the difference, I will never go back to a manual brush.

MadTAco - the 5000 brush is so much faster in oscillations and it also pulsates in-out. Yes the 500 will suffice but the 5000 is superior.

And yes I am in the dental industry and I see a huge difference between those who use one and don't.

This is an excellent price with the cashback. Normally you would only get one handle for similar price.

      • PC500 oscillates and pulsates, too. Of course, not as fast. Would it make a big difference? Perhaps initially … when you first start using an electric brush.

    • I've had a few electric toothbrushes in the past. I bought this one as part of the same promotion (i.e. $50 cashback) last year. This is by far the best one I've ever used.

Might sound silly, but it's got a few cool features… It tells you if you're brushing too hard, when you should move on to the next part of your mouth, timer, 4 different cleaning modes, etc. Remember, you're getting two toothbrushes for that price, not just one. :)

    • Sorry about the double post. can't get rid of it :s

In terms of cleaning potential. Nothing.
      In terms of marketing everything.

If you're brushing properly, these brushes do squat extra compared to a manual toothbrush. It just makes brushing your teeth easier.

To whoever neg'ed me. I'm just paraphrasing what the Oral-B rep told me.

    • I purchased similar double deal about 8~9 years ago, paid around $100 for two.
      So it's more like $50 a brush.
They are still going, but batteries lost their holding capacity so will be getting this deal.
I was always skeptical whether you need an electric toothbrush, but even after using one for few weeks I was a convert.
I noticed huge difference - definitely less effort & much better job then manual toothbrush.
My dentist noticed a big difference as well, he swears by them.
Much easier on my shoulder as well (had a workplace injury with permanent damage to my upper arm).
Do you need it? No, you can still brush with manual brush.
Is it worth it paying ~$60 for an electric one - for me it is an unequivocal yes.
I just hope the new ones last as long as the old did.

  • Thanks to OP.
    Great deal.

  • It's sonic like Philips Sonicare series?

  • Sold out.

    • Still some available at Myer Charlestown, NSW.

Lazy generation… argahh >$100 just for a brush

  • +1

Still available @ Myer Perth City

    • Myer Perth is sold out however there's at least one left in Morley and possible more scattered around (Karinyup appeared to have some). I had a look at the stock list which showed varying levels across the country although there's always a difference between stock lists and actual stock.

  • thanks op, I've been hanging out for a new one of these
