Moved to Forum (Insufficient quantity): Original Link

I'll upload the docket soon. But there is one more ps3 console there and I think it maybe 60gb. They were telling people they sold out when they were ringing up.

  • +1

    do they price match?

  • +6

Fantastic prices, but if there are only 1-2 consoles left this is pointless posting.

    • +4

      Except to gloat maybe? :-)

      • +5

Everyone likes to receive a pat on the back, but with the level of stock the OP reported as remaining may be 1 single ozbargainer may have benefited from this deal. And as one member has reported there was no more stock left any way.

  • +1

Non Stock at Robina or Harbour Town This Bargain is ridiculous!
Be interested to see if anyone else was able to get a hold of some.

  • ON THE WAY NOW OMG ILL LET YOUS KNOW THANKYOU +1

  • Is this just store specific or applies to all DJ stores?
Don't want to move my lazy a** for nothing :D

  • Lame… I was just up in the city today.

  • +1

that's a great price, I'm real happy for ya and Imma let you finish, but DSE just had the most unreplicable bargain of all time, OF ALL TIME.

    • +3

      Which was….

      • -1

ZOOOOOOOOM, over your head I think

        • I thought he'd actually scored something? I've spent mega bucks there this week, at heaps of their ACT locations. Didn't want to miss out on anything else is all !

  • went there, no stock left :(

    • Parra?

      • +1

        yep

  • Did you buy all the PS3's and there's only the 60gb left (as in last stock for ps3) ? btw how come the 120gb is cheaper than the 40gb

    • It had a corrupt hard drive which my brother just fixed :) (bu putting the ps3 in safe mode)

      • ahh damn still heaps good!

      • Why was the Xbox on clearance??

EDIT: I just called the Cheltenham store and the salesman said they've cleared all the consoles off because they're shutting down the Entertainment department (games, music, DVDs).

      • In other words it wasn't brand new. But for $15….

  • insane price..well done op

  • +13

congrats op! this price is amazing. but is it really a deal? i am afraid not.

    • Agree!

  • No PS3s left anywhere in Queensland. Just called a store and that's what they told me

  • +4

I wish I stumbled upon insane deals like this :(

  • +3

Called DJ Macarthur - there's apparently no Xbox 360s left in NSW. There's only one in QLD. A Kinect bundle for $150.

  • +1

I reckon this is a one off mate!

  • Do you think another store (JB or DSE etc.) will pricematch?

    • Not sure about DSE but JB for sure they won't, because apparently they aren't always cheapest prices LOL!

    • +1

considering there seems to be next to nothing available, I doubt it.

  • +1

I'm so jealous… has anyone checked out the Perth stores by any chance?

    • only the city stock electrical and they have not stocked consoles for a year now. They only sell the games now.

  • +1

Meh. Don't waste your time at Glen or Chadstone in Vic.

    • +1

Don't waste your time anywhere – I just called DJ's in Southland (Cheltenham VIC) and the guy said they have no stock in all the state.

  • +8

Another product with no stock, pointless posting it,

    • +1

      Totally agree!

      • +1

        Not really a deal then!

  • +3

Imagine how many years the ps3 40gb was there for!

  • $15 for a PS3? paid $25 for a Playtv yesterday, now i feel ripped off.

    • +2

$25 for a playtv, Where at?

  • +1

Don't waste your time at burwood, no consoles but they did have plenty of ps2 tony hawk 4 game and remote packs!! Think it was still like $20 lol

  • wow they have a 60gb in stock, i need that in my life lol

  • How do we know that this is not a mistake only for this store, as DJ are only offering 50% off these items, not 95& off!

  • WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    PS3 for $37.49

  • Nothing in Doncaster victoria

  • +1

I have been to Hornsby DJ, Chatswood DJ and Warringah Mall DJ and they all have none in stock

  • +4

Whether there is any left to get at this price, +1 from me, just as a well done for the OP.

  • lol i was there this morning. Where was this stuff?

  • And I thought the Xbox 360 I just snagged at $112 was a bargain…

  • +2

A store should have some residual stock at multiple locations for it to be a "deal". Not just 1 - good on you to the poster, but a waste of time to actually post.

  • +2

This should be in the forum.

    • Agreed

  • The 60gb was faulty.. Great buy but no deal..

    • how faulty? lol

      • It had a corrupted hard drive so it can't of been brand new so i say it was a customer returned console. DJ just selling off a faulty unit. The OP reckoned his brother got it going through safe mode but i reckon the HDD must have an issue to begin with that's causing corrupted data that would probably creep up again. Probably faulty sectors on the drive. But you can buy a new 500GB 2.5" hard drive for $55 from MSY to replace it with.

        • its an easy fix lol thats why i asked how faulty

  • +2

Awesome prices mate, you should get a lotto ticket as it's obviously your lucky day.

    • +1

they're very sensitive about being called that, but you knew that didnt you….

      • They prefer to be called anally challenged.

  • +1

The guy at chadstone said they have no stock left when I asked if they sold consoles. With a smirk that I couldn't work out.

  • +3

    ATTENTION.

Called Two David jones stores in NSW and both told me that All consoles are now officially sold out australia wide.

So much console clearances within this year but one retailer isn't jumping on the bandwagon just yet and that is Big W with their old stock still priced at original price.

    • +8

Then we will wait them out.

      • war of attrition

  • -1

too easy for peeps to vote positive without having to post a comment, revoking a vote is one of the hardest things to do around ozb (yah I don't even know where it is :p)

    • Agreed

    • +1

Just click the "votes" tab at the top (next to the "view" tab) and there is a button to press to revoke your vote. Easy!

      • thanks a lot mate! i swear i've been to that page before but it is so well concealed and when your eyes are fixated and you're busy salivating over an impossible deal, these minor tabs just seem to disappear

  • no consoles in miranda

  • Do you reckon this deal will become somewhat like the DSE Logitech G27 Deal or the HN Asus EEE ep121 Deal?

  • How do these people still have stock for a console discontinued years ago?

    • This is what happens when you have jacked up unrealistic prices and expect people to pay a premium for it. Selling it at a loss serves them right IMO.

    • I bet they're all customer returned consoles that have faults which was sitting out the back for some time and they only just found them again. Like that PS3 120GB $15 console with a corrupted hard drive. They wouldn't be brand new.

  • +3

Happy you got a good deal, but posting this once-off clearance has just made everyone jealous :P

  • This isn't a deal… OZB should have a new rule which says there should be a certain amount of stock to classify as a deal. These one offs should go to the forum.

    • thought there was
something like at least 50 stock

    • I feel like I've seen somewhere that it's acceptable to neg, or it's not considered a deal if there's less than 5, or something like that. But now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it anymore.

    • Ah! http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

"If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price."

It's listed as a grey area, but given that OP got the last, or second to last one, I'd say it's no deal.

      • OP isn't a rep.
This is obviously a genuine deal and the fact that there was only one left at his store is insignificant- there may well have been more available at other stores.
Props to the OP for managing to pick up this bargain!

        • The guidelines there aren't just for reps. It's a deal for him, no doubt, and I'm highly highly jealous. But a deal worth posting as a deal, instead of in the forums? Much more questionable.

        • +2

So I posted it clearly saying there was one left at my store. Htf am I suppose to know what other quantity levels there are at other DJs?
I stated that they were telling people that rang they didn't have quantity even though they did.

My only objective was to inform the community that it is possible to purchase consoles from DJs even when they say they're out of stock.

        • Then shouldn't it have maybe been posted in the forums?

  • Happened to be in the city (Sydney) today. There was no stock, so for those thinking that they missed out, maybe that will make you feel better.
