Reading that other thread above which I linked to, apparantly the biggest problem with these is the screen reslution. But then what do you expect from a sub-$100 tablet ?
Heck, this is now sub $60 tablet !

But if you read the reviews on dealsdirect (http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/onix-17-8cm-7in-touch-screen-1…), people have had dramas with the refurbished version, with it stop working after a few days.

I'm looking for a cheap tablet also, but not sure if I will go with this one.

  • Yes I am also unsure but have a voucher for DealsDirect and need to spend it as it will expire soon. This makes it a little better price. So still thinking.

  • I doesnt get any cheaper I guess…

  • I get the feeling from the reviews that its not really a useful tablet (for the ozbarginer type), might as well put the money all on red….

    • Agree…Circle 23 ;)

I bought a cheap tablet like this 6 months ago in malaysia for 100aud for my 5yr old.
Touch sensitivity was bad. Battery was bad.. offloaded it to some sucker for 70 aud lol.

Replaced with a 7inch toshiba thrive.. battery on that isnt great either but everything else is great.

If i can find a cheap galaxy tab 7.7 that will be perfect..
currently have a 7.7 3g and its still one of the best around imo.

      What a coincidence.

I recently bought an almost new 2nd hand tablet from a guy for $70 - he said it was from Malaysia, and his young son didn't like it.

I haven't had a single problem with it - battery is fine, screen is great, etc etc.

As a bonus, the guy had forgotten to delete all his login and password details, and now I can look at his multitude of paid-for pron sites, and have access to his online banking.

      lol

  • I've got one of these. They are refurbed and Aldi has them for $99 new. First one was DOA but DealsDirect were really easy to deal with on exchange and refund. It's OK for movies, browsing and basic games but more intensive stuff it really struggles. Battery life is fine, touch could be better. I use it for watching video and iView, online papers, music. Having an SD slot is handy. I don't regret buying. But you do get what you pay for.

  • Lol wasnt me.. how does the tablet act when charging it and using at the same time?

Person who bought it said it acted strange and flickered.
