Hey everyone, just booked my flights for a trip to NZ (from BNE flying into Auckland, return from CHCH).
Just curious what people consider cheap fares? I had to book on short notice so I am not sure if I got a good deal or not. Just wanted to know results people have had for future reference.

The dates of the flights make a big difference. We try to get ~$300-500pp return (usually full service airline). I think the cheapest we've had was <$400 for two, but this was a fluke. Sometimes (i.e. Christmas when you've left it too late) it can be a LOT more.

Around $200, I wend with jetstar last year Nov-Dec, flying from Goldcoast.
Jetstar was having a promotion before other airlines 2-3 months ahead Virgin & NZ airline.
i booked tickets for Gold Coast- Auckland return through expedia.co.jp flying jetstar for about $225. leaving end of june.

2 years ago we flew Sydney to Christchurch for under $250 return for 2 people with Virgin. Haven't seen them that cheap again!
Cheapest I've seen is $200 return for booking early and in an off peak period. I've only travelled in January and have paid $450 (Jetstar) return to Christchurch and $500 (Emirates) to Auckland
