I've got one of these and have been very happy with it - it's about 1/2 the price of what they sell for locally and I couldn't find a cheaper price on eBay. If you're happy to, please use my affiliate link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019CQL60/ref=as_li_ss_tl?…

  • Does it work with portable stove butane gas cans?, seems hard to find what this thing attaches to

  • You can buy disposable MAP-Pro or Propane fuel cylinder (MAP-Pro burns hotter but is more expensive - it's really good stuff though) - If you buy the disposable cylinders make sure you find the best price - I got Bunnings to price match as they were selling for a lot more then some other places.
To save money I bought a hose so that I can connect it to a big refillable gas bottle when I'm using at home.

  • So you reckon customs will get excited when they see this lol.

    • +1

I didn't have any problems with customs - as long as you don't order the gas I don't see why there would be any issues.

  • Is this product good for flaming polishing ACRYLIC sheet edges? what temperature goes upto?

    can some one tell me?

    thank you

  • Just bought one. Saw one being used to lightly grill scallop inari sushi and had to get one to try at home.

On their site, plain propane (blue bottle) is 3450 degrees Centigrade in air
MAP Pro (yellow bottle with polypropylene mix I think) is 3600 degrees centigrade in air.

For higher temperatures, there's a little red bottle (oxygen) that's used in conjuction with the other fuels but I don't think this particular torch can be set up to run the mix.
