The offer seems to have expired on the 28/02, and it was for $40, plus an extra $10 to have the Sunday Times home delivered.

It's not a bad deal at all (i know multiple people last year who signed up to this). Just remember if you're at a residential college, you won't see the weekend papers at all because an early bird student will 'borrow' it before you do.
And for a completely balanced view, team this up with a subscription to "Green Left Weekly" and you'll be set. ;)
50c doesn't cover the cost of printing. Advertising covers the cost of printing.
they do this so they can maintain or increase their readership, so they can get more advertising moniessssss.
