    You and kids get free entry to all the national zoos with this membership.

    You don't get discounted parking at Taronga which is only for friends of the taronga zoo.

    It's probably the best zoo in the country

  til the melbourne zoo put the twilight music at the zoo back to its pre-commercialised days i wont be back.

  it WAS beautifully relaxing environment where kids enjoyed the picnic & adults enjoyed the music, then it became a sponsored, high cost ticketed affair which lost its appeal.

  was a member for 15 years but no longer.

  I think somebody worked out before if you don't care about supporting your local zoo or its newsletters / other specials, then the cheapest purely on membership terms will be to take an fotz membership of the Perth zoo.

  You can still get to all the zoos for free. We were members of the Melbourne zoo and liked having the flexibility to take kids there even for a quick half a day picnic.

  We live close to one of those and parking is quite cheap so it is a perfect place for quick visits.

  Also if you don't have membership then to get the best value you need to spend 8 hours in the zoo to be able to see everything.
  this way we can see sections at a time without getting the kiddies too tired or bored.

  Dammit - renewed my membership just three days ago, on the day it was due to expire. I should have held on until I was considered lapsed.

    Don't think so, when I called them they said

    For New members for two adults its the same old deal 12 months for 184 $ (169 $ + 15$ joining fee) {Kids get in free}

    Well to be honest, I think its great to see an organisation finally incentivising existing members. I'm sick of all those mobile and other deals that are available for new members only.

  That's brilliant value. Honestly, you'd be hard pressed to trap and keep even one animal for 15 months at that price.

  Thanks dealman! My membership expired today so called them up and mentioned this deal. They said that while i wasn't part of the original group of people who were contacted, they were happy to give me the bonus 3 months.

    good for you , it's a great membership to have with young kids,

    It's a shame that single entry prices are so expensive.
