Supermi Mi Goreng Spicy @24¢ at Woolworths Online and in Store

80

Just like Indomie goreng. It tastes not bad at all but Indomie still has a better taste imo. But for 24¢ I think it's worth it.

It doesn't seem to be in current catalogue but I can confirm it is also 24¢ in store as I just bought 8 packs for $1.92 in Rundlemall, SA. This is despite the price tag on the shelf saying it is 49¢ (the web says it's 53¢). I can't confirm whether this is nation wide, though.

*Based on @bonesAU comment most likely it's nationwide.

I can confirm the price is the same here in Perth so it must be nationwide. This brand tastes fine to me, worth stocking up IMO.

  • That's quite a deal, the price of these is typically $7 for 24 packets at Costco.

They're pretty much just as good as Indomie, but the chilli sauce is a powder instead.

Also be wary of expiry dates, as the condiments tend to solidify fairly quickly.

  • both coming out from same factory, indofood. even the R&D team for the product is the same. Superme was the first product as far as i remember and then they follow with indomie to make it sound more indonesian. Indomie is now promoted as the main brand and supermie to tackle the lowcost new competitor. The bad thing about them is that they are deepfried in palm oil, other than that the rest is just a myth.

    • 386kCal per serve =(
Its hard to go back to Magi noodles after tasting these

  • had this 2 days ago, good taste, bit fiddly to prepare as there are 5 satchels to open, 2 foil and 3 plastic, is there a reason they can't just put it all into 1 paste?

It locks the flavour by dividing them into separate satchels. The sweet soy sauce and chilli wont taste as good if they mixed from the manufacturing.

      • And for my poor white boy taste buds it lets me add all the MSG flavouring, oil and soy, but only a little chilli sauce. And go to the local asian supermarket for a 100g jar of fried shallots pieces for $2 to add extra cruch (there is never enough in the little sachet).

  • I wish that we could buy Mi Goreng Jumbo here. They are a larger serving… can buy them at any supermarket in Indonesia. Not quite as big as having 2 standard size packs, but they are just right! om nom nom…

    • It is available at Laguna - Glenferried Rd, Hawthorn for 50cent its. While the standard size is 30cent each. That's their everyday price.

I have tasted both. They taste the same. main different (if I am picky) is the amount of crunchyness/softness of the 2 are slightly different. The smaller different is supermi uses powe chilli.

cooking tip for the optimum 'firmness'.
    - put the noodle in BEFORE the water boil.
    - while boiling, stir for 1 minute then turn the fire off.
    - let it sit for 2 minutes
    - drain the noodle, then rinse it once quickly (so the noodle is still hot) and drain again. This time, keep about 5% water.
    - put your prefered satchel contents into the bottom of the bow.
    - pour your noodles ontop and stir evenly. The 5% of water will ensure an even mix.

when your timing it right, the noodle is warm, chewy and has just the right amount of 'firmness' to it. It's perfect for oral consumption. one packet is not enough for me. I always have to have 2 :p

I hate soggy/overly soft noodle and also hate undercooked hard noodles.

Now how do you cook yours?

      Is there another way?
