guys, how many prepaid accounts (withTelstra) can we have at the same time?
I currently have 9 prepaid accounts.
request to close the prepaid number accounts through online telstra chat. just close 3 of mine. easyyy..
Anything current. I ran out.
My mum lives in an area with really poor coverage from all other carriers and the Telstra $180 Recharge with 365 day expiry is the best value I've found so far. Uses around 6-9 gig across the year.
Like i said above, it was better value when it was $150. Telstra knew this, hence the price hike.
Better getting the modem outright and then buying 2gb from Kogan every 30 days. Kogan sim works on these
That's a good idea, making it ~$120/yr…
Has that changed recently? I looked at Kogan and Aldi when it last expired but they both looked unattractive at the time…
Anyone knows if it can be unlocked and how much? Thanks.
I unlocked mine for 7 euros, dc locker I think is the name of the software, check the thread on Whirlpool forums. It was easy but since doing it the battery indicator disappeared from the display. Also if you plan switching to Kogan(or another Telstra service user) I read somewhere that you don't need to unlock it. Excellent unit.
Thanks…
battery indicator disappeared from the display?
was it only yours?
I unlocked mine but couldn't get it working with TPG, I think you need to put in the TPG mobile APN settings to get it to connect but I didn't have enough time.
@mkhannah
I am sure there is a way to get the battery indicator back (check DC Unlocker forum)
good luck.

(careful tho read all the instructions :)
snappy1234, that was very kind of you to post that link.
Followed the easy instructions, worked first time, battery indicator is back!
Many thanks for the heads up.
Hi guys,
I got ipad2 with telstra sim, and pay $180 Recharge with 365 day expiry every year.
I am wondering if could insert my ipad2 sim to this unit (Telstra Elite WIFI) then get recharge my existing sim with new voucher came with it?Thanks a lot!
iPad 2 takes micro SIM. This unit takes full size SIM. The SIM in the unit will be preloaded with the 30 days 5GB deal. Use that up for 30 days via the WiFi. However, after that just use the 12 month voucher on the SIM in your iPad2 using the Telstra app. Telstra aren't going to know this was a bundle with the modem, just recharge as normal using the voucher.
Still optus network manages to do ~$1 gbyte by some of the crummier deals lodged here; tls you should be able to deliver similar, only pls not the status quo ( $9-$3/gb). More needed.
A lesser network offers a cheaper rate… That seems about right? If other networks offered the same service quality that Telstra do, they'd probably charge more for it too.
The old sq line won't endure forever.'. Itll wear thin, eventually.
I'll try using that line next time I head into a restaurant and complain that it's more expensive than McDonalds.
Dodgy way of selling that, the $180 recharge used to cost $150 before Telstra put it up! So really its just old stock for $19 (when they were half price at $39.50 not long ago)
