I don't know how EB even stays in business, they're mainstream games are way overpriced.

7 day return policy + the match prices.
i'm not a huge fan of EB but they generally have the game in stock and will match discounted stores like Kmart or Big W.

EB Games are a rip off. Their games are way overpriced to begin with. Always $99.95
Get this. At my nearest shopping mall, the only 2 places that sell games are EB Games and Kmart. One time I went to EB Games to price match a game from a different shop at a different mall since that mall is further away from me so it was just for convenience plus I thought they'd beat it by 10% at least. They then said "we no longer price match shops outside of this mall"…so I say "So in other words you only price match Kmart?"……..and they're like "yeah..". But the other thing is that they only price match; they don't beat the price by 10% like Kmart.
So the question I was asking myself was, Why the hell would I go through all the trouble of price matching it at EB when I could just go to Kmart and buy it from them? Why would I give EB the satisfaction when they don't deserve the sale. They're such cheap buggers. Not only that but games you get from EB aren't exactly new. They're all open and people return them after playing with them for a week. So not only are they expensive but they're often used. At least all the games at Kmart are always factory sealed (the ones at mine are anyway).
Some people go to EB to price match for the 7 day return policy. I don't agree with that but and I often don't even play the game inside that week.
Only time I go to EB to price match is if they have a preorder deal where you get something free and then when you pay for it you can price match to the cheaper store while retaining the preorder bonus.
I buy online more often now.
Its actually a good deal because say Kmart Have Lips for $77 which has happened twice you get eb games to price match then you Use the 15% off Voucher = $65.45 and usually Kmart Have Their Games on sale for even cheaper like when madden 09 was $60 - 15% = $51 and the reason People bother is because you can take the game back within 7 days for your money back and no other store does this.
EB is hopeless. The only good thing about them is that they always have stock of virtually every new game.
Apart from that they're just way overpriced and give you jack all if you decide to take up their stupid "trade-in" deals.
And who doesn't have a 7 day return policy these days? How is that a major plus?
Kmart, Myer, JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Game Traders, Target, DJ's, dont have a 7 day return policy. No one else really has a 7 day return policy thats why its a major plus
Yeah but as long as you have the receipt you can exchange it most of the time if some reason your unsatisfied.
I wouldn't spend money on a game if i didn't know it was going to be good. and before you ask 'how?' - i have friends.
Further to this their price matching policy is a scam - forget these clowns.

I work at Gametraders and we offer a 7 day exchange on games if you dont like them. As long as they arent scratched. So it isnt just EB. Plus our prices are better than EB!
