    Coles are pretty misleading.

This is why you have Clearance, Reduced etc, to show that its about to go off.

Hardly a bargain unless you freeze the milk as well.

So you have to finish them all in one day.

  • Buy a few bottles and make some Paneer

    • agreed lots of different cheeses can be made!
of course love date expiry milk for this purpose.

damn right, I'll teach you but I'll have to charge.

If the milk expires tomorrow, Coles will have thrown it out tonight.

How does this deal benefit anyone?

Oh wait, Coles Coolum closes at 9pm tonight. Quick, residents of Coolum! Get there!

Plenty of time! I'm sure all 22,000 of them are rushing down now!

Fair enough! You've got my + vote!

    • I'm a resident of coolum!

  • OB has cheap milk = buy as much as possible then work out how to dehydrate it and make homemade powdered milk

    • Freezing milk would be a better alternative, I believe. The freezing causes the milk to separate, so it is no longer homogenized, but it is still nutritious and can be used in cooking. It might work better to freeze it, then thaw it and let the milkfat come to the top, skim that off to make butter from, and drink the skim milk. If you are starting with non-homogenized milk, just separate the cream from the milk, make butter from that cream, and freeze the skimmed milk.

That would be an amazing bargain if someone managed that!

      • I make butter at home from thickened cream, stick it in a mixer, beat until the butter milk separates from the fat, drain the butter milk (save & use in cooking) and then add salt to the butter. Too easy! Lasts 2/3 weeks with the salt & a few days without.

Edited because I'm more tired than I realise!

I am lactose intolerent but at 25c litre i have to get some.

This is one of the silliest deals ever.

My local fruit market has a trolley full of old vegetables that are marked down to 25% of the original price… should I post a deal?

    • +3

I totally agree with you llama! It is not a bargain and the chances are that this milk is about to go off anyway…. so not worth the 50c even….

Totally agree with you! Finally some sense in this thread.

  • I'm not in QLD but if I were, I'd see if I can get it turned into some home-made yoghurt.
    Milk isn't just for drinking.
    Yoghurt
    Cheese
    Cakes
    Sweets
I'm stopping now because that's all I can think of but the internet is at your fingertips. Literally. And with it, the answer to the question "What can I use 2L of soon-to-be-expired milk for?". And lots of pron.
    Or so I hear.
