  • Just bought the other one on Amazon :(

I do like the retro look of this one though.

    • same watch like this? which one is cheaper?

  • Retro look is cool I got the newer looking Casio which does all the same stuff, it's white too :-)

  • its not a bad watch, although white with gold buttons looks a bit "special"

i had a look on ebay and that $200 globe casio is black with a red light and it has extra functions (that no one gives a shit about like tide monitor)

      All G-shocks look "special"

IMHO they are fugly. So completely overrated. I just can't understand why anyone would want them.

Also 200m water resistance could be the same thing as 0m waterproof.

      • No watch EVER states "water proof" any-more. Not even a divers watch.

        • to be fair, casios may be many things but when they say 200m resist, they mean it

          like volvos, ugly but good

        • Boxxy, but Safe.

        • ugly eh?? . . . P1800.

      • Casio promised me 3 years battery life. When they said 3 years, they tested it with daily alarm clock, daily button pressing usage. They test it given the worst case scenario.

It's been 6 years and my Mudman G-Shock still is running strong on the very battery that came with it. A quick Google search shows people who've had Casio watches rated 2 years go on to do 10 easily.

Many companies play around with numbers to boost their own products' performance

Casio plays with numbers to ensure you pretty much ALWAYS get what you are guaranteed, even though on average you are likely to get 300-500% of that number in reality.

6 years, wore it through a year of my country's army service too. Aside from some cheese in some areas (lol up for routine cleaning soon), that baby is still scratch-free and like brand new.

They promise you a rugged watch, they bloody deliver it. Form vs function, these babies are the very epitome of function.

I don't really care about fashion, I just want a watch that doesn't give up on me. I don't care about fanboyism, about buying 50 watches and swapping them around. I just want ONE. I've carelessly destroyed heaps of cheap Casios, one Seiko, and one Swatch.

        I trust my G-Shock.

    Good deal.

Tempted to get one to go with my DW-5600E and G-5600NV. don't think I like the white tho.

The 5600's are the only good looking G shocks IMO. Not too big, not too small.

    • I agree, ive got a GWM5600A-9 that i bought in Dubai for 80AUD, couldnt resist snapping this up as well!
