Wanted: 14-15" frame, MTB/Hybrid bike - SYD

Hi,

Am having SFA luck in locating a well priced 14-15" MTB or Hybrid bike. Is for my wife, so prefer ladies specific model if possible.

Budget is $400-$600 or so - obviously less is nicer but it needs to be reasonable. Don't want Kmart/junk type stuff. :-)

Had been looking at Giant Sedona CX/Cypress and they have some great prices on 2008 stock in VIC - but alas due to Giant's rules they refuse to freight - you must pickup in person.

Have checked out Cell Bikes but most of their female stuff is crap.

Any ideas or retailers that are price competitive appreciated.

    There is a few online bike stores like bikes.com.au. I think they deliver bikes Australia wide.

    torpedo7.com.au is great for accessories.

    In the current times, I am sure your local store will be happy to price match. Ideally, you want to get bike from your local store because most of them will include a year's servicing of the bike free.

    Have you checked out Clarence Street Cyclery? www.cyclery.com.au
    There are some good deals if you click on "specials".
    My husband and I bought our Hybrid bikes from there last year after shopping around for the best deal (mine being a ladies model - Gary Fisher).

    bikes.com.au had some reasonable deals - their charges for postage is a bit much though - $50 - especially given that they'd obviously not have to service your bike for you for the first 12mths nor put it together for you either.

    All the good deals are in VIC for some reason - very little at all in NSW.

    Had a look at the Clarence Street site - some ok deals on pure MTB's - but am leaning towards more of a hybrid for her as she's very petite and the extra weight of an MTB just doesn't make sense.

    Alas they don't appear to have many hybrid style womens specific bikes on special - atleast not below $1000.

    Open to any other suggestions guys…much thanks again.
