    • mine got cancelled…WTF..

  • Yep - mine cancelled too - email about 1/2 hour ago.

It's the "Warmest regards" part that ticks me off the most.
    Warm my arse.

    Thanks for trying OP.

  • Just received the email now… another canceled order to add to the list.

  • Mine got cancelled :(

  • Bastards cancelled my order!
They reckon it was a pricing error.
    So much fail

  • Cancelled :(

  • I got the price error email as well

  • Got the same email. If it's a price error it should be fixed immediately. If a company lets it go unchanged beyond 24 hours they should be forced to honour a deal. At least we don't have to wait around weeks for a refund.

Sorry the deal fell through guys.

  • Yep, same email here, no doubt everyone's order will be cancelled, I was half expecting this but it did take them over a day to work it out

    • -1

It was a bank holiday on Monday in the UK, so probably limited staff.
They didn't send out the cancellation until after COB Tuesday though (their time), which IMO is pretty dodgy.
I was skeptical Monday, so I actually rang their customer service in the UK, and they told me it was legit, so I ordered.
Oh well, what can you do ?

      • +2

I was skeptical Monday, so I actually rang their customer service in the UK, and they told me it was legit

        You tipped them off

        • Yeah I agree, might have slipped through the system unnoticed if attention wasn't drawn to it. They don't charge if they don't ship so there's no reason to call first, just order and hope.

        • -1

Yeah, Amazon wouldn't have noticed that it hit #1 sales ranking within an hour ???
I actually rang to confirm availability, and up the quantity of my existing order at around 2am AEST.
I don't think this deal would just "slip through their system unnoticed"…

        • Yes, i tipped them off…i was the only customer that rang out of the tens of thousands of orders they would have received

        • +4

Yes, you were. Who else rings an overseas website to ask for their stock levels before ordering?

        • Actually they were inundated with calls about it, and like I said, I was updating the quantity on my order.

        • -1

Now pmupsinep, you know i love you, i've always loved you.

But you're off-beam man. Amazon UK is a massive site - they will have monitoring in place & some people will always call, simply as they have other issues when ordering.

Whatever action they get through OB will probably be minor cf all those always-online Americans.

Goldberg simply did the intelligent thing before placing multiple orders. The notion that you pay no price with a pricing error is also off-beam, as it's a hassle to reverse the charges etc if they had been made.

Goldberg, i love you too, and i think you're on the money with the bank holiday observation.

        • Lol. I didn't for a second believe that he was at fault. I just found it completely bizarre that someone would ring an overseas to check stock before placing an order.

Goldberg simply did the intelligent thing before placing multiple orders. The notion that you pay no price with a pricing error is also off-beam, as it's a hassle to reverse the charges etc if they had been made.

Refunds from large sellers all over the world are pretty much never an issue and processed automatically.*

*Except Harvey Norman, a disgrace to Australia.

        • Refunds from large seller all over the world are pretty much never an issue and processed automatically.

If i need to think, it's a hassle.

I have to keep reminding myself that my plan to have Looney Tunes on continuous rotation is dead…

        • +1

shakes head I'm very disappointed with you Goldberg.

  • Got the same cancellation email this morning. Bummer.

  • Cancelled :(

  • Cancelled due to pricing error.. Too good to be true.. :(

  • Mine cancelled too

  • Order canceled. Revoking my +.

  • This is like: DX - take 2…cut! (ur orders)

  • Cancelled here too.
    Very poor form by Amazon.

  • Cancelled…..bugger.

  • Flail

  • Have you guys check if they have process refund yet?

  • my order got canceled too. damn, just like the transformer one.

  • +2

They are not like HN, DS, etc. they don't take out the money until your order has been shipped.

    • +6

This should become a worldwide standard for all online stores IMHO!

  • yup, same here canceled.

  • Got the same email. This is the second time amazon.co.uk has done this to me. First with the Optimus Prime and now this. :(((

  • Order cancelled..

  • +3

I'm so sick of order cancellations, first the works now amazon damnit, I hate thinking i've got a bargain and having it taken away from me!! So what I want to know is did anyone NOT get their order cancelled? Have they cancelled everyone or just some unlucky ones because they oversold the stock or changed their minds or something ?

  • strange that they had "This is part of our Summer Sale" on it when it was 7 pound, therefore seemed like a real price at the time, rather than a pricing error.

  • -4

My order got canceled with out confirmation! They should give us compensation for wasting our time.

Amazons gonna go bankrupt due to this! Lossing of millions buyers, shame in u!

  • Dx, eb games and now amazon, whats next? I bet many of us are gonna use amazon ever again.

  • Got the same email.

cancelled order. pity the ACCC cant step in, that would have been an awesome buy.

    • +1

      Price errors happen

    • +2

Let's fix our local retailers before we worry about the overseas retailers.

  • cancelled. wrong price they claimed. bummer

  • I guess only the OP got one?

    • +3

No, I mentioned above my order was cancelled too. After writing a letter of complaint they came back to me and offered free express post but would not honour the original 7 pound price tag. I polite declined.

      • +1

I had a couple of other blurays in my order just to make use of the slightly cheaper shipping for subsequent items, and yeah similarly through emails and chat windows I managed to get the shipping on the rest of the order refunded because of the cancellation, best of a bad situation it seems. I really hope we don't keep getting these cancelled orders on good deals because it undermines the whole ozbargain community, so frustrating getting those emails.

        • I didn't get that response on my order - they just wanted to ship the other boxset I had ordered & charge full shipping! I ended up cancelling the order.

I was pretty unimpressed that all I got was a "warmest regards" - like you I thought free shipping on the remainder of the order would have been the least they can do.

It will take a bloody good deal to get me ordering from Amazon again…

  • +2

Some pretty angry people in the review section on amazon.co.uk?

Maybe if they get enough neg comments they might reinstate the original orders? Worth a shot? Off to write my own …

    • +1

Ahahaha, there's pages and pages of angry 1 star reviews! Everyone's spewing, not just ozbargain it was on some hot uk deals site aswell. It's good they deserve some heat for this, hopefully it discourages them from going down the cancellation route in the future. LOL they've started a petition http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/amazon-amazon-supply-o…

      • +1

Yeah I signed that. Why not.

  • And now the spam from Amazon begins.
I had created an account with Amazon for the first time to get this awesome price.
    Then they cancelled it.
And now they send me an email:

I have marked it as spam, purposely not opting out (unsubscribe).
If enough people mark Amazon emails as spam, maybe the "learning" spam filters will start blocking that domain completely…

    • Yeah,

      I just got that too.

What is even funnier ( or worse ) is if you click on the offer the price jumps upto £22!

That was the first and last time I am going to deal with Amazon UK.

  • +1

Oh good grief. It was a great deal on the surface, unfortunately it was a pricing error, move on. I mean really, it's not like it's a much-needed kidney transplant, it's a DVD set with old cartoons on it. I'd have been thrilled to get it at that price, but in the grand scheme of things it's trivial at best.

    • +1

      Its not just that.
Now Amazon has my personal details and my credit card details.
Even though I am not their customer!

That is not acceptable, which is why I never had an account with them before…

Maybe this was just a ploy to increase their "customer" base, to cook the books or something…

      • then remove your details. Personally I use Amazon for a lot of my online shopping. They respect the unsubscribe function and often do great deals.

        • Yup, credit card details deleted.
Have also requested them to delete my account.

      • +1

Seriously? A huge company like Amazon deliberately pisses off a large number of customers just so they can scam your credit card details, which they used nefariously to not charge you anything for the cancelled deal? Best plan ever.

        • +1

Hmm. Can never a trust a company. Especially a HUGE company.

        • I'm not suggesting you should trust them, but accusing them of something nefarious is going a bit far.

        • Many people called them up, and they confirmed each time that it was not a pricing error!
And then the email about this being a pricing error.

          They lied.

Genuine mistake = no problem. They can even keep my details.
But if they start lying, it makes you think what else might be going on…

        • +1

As nsg said, people confirmed with amazon that it WASN'T a pricing error. This is why people are pissed.

    • …it's a DVD set with old cartoons on it.

      Thank you, Captain Obvious.

      • salutes Just doing my job ma'am

        • +1

          slaps head Indeed.

    • It wasn't a pricing error.

  • they canceled my order as well

  • Got the same email…sigh was looking forward to some good stupid luffs… so did anyone got them at that price?

  • +1

I ordered some bluray (that I don't really) with this boxset.
The boxset which I wanted got cancelled, the thing I really don't need got approved :-(

    • +1

Did the same thing - ordered a DVD on a whim since I was already shipping this box set over.
Just went into live chat with Amazon and told them I was unavailable between the notification e-mail and the order being charged and shipped… they just refunded the delivery costs.

Can't complain about that, I guess.

      • No refund or discount for me. Amazon just said to not accept the delivery :-(
